Siinmers of Ft, Myers, Fla, and Highlands has returned to his home on Big Bear Pen Mountain from the C, J, Harris Memorial Hospital in Slyva where he underwent surgery. Miss Betty Holt returned home Sunday after a week in Atlanta, Ga, where she visited her cousin, Miss Jeanne Peak* Mr, and Mrs, George Clarke of Augusta, Ga, have returned to their summer home on Webbmont, Dr, and Mrs, 0, C, Skinner of Horse Cove celebrated their forty-eighth wedding anniversary on Friday, June 21, Mr, and Mrs, Robert Lane, Sr. of Cam den, Ala, were guests recently of Mr, and Mrs, Robert DuPree, "SOU OF FLUBBER" One of the funniest comedies to come out of Hollywood in many a day is Walt Dis ney *s newest laugh-riot, “Son of Flubber,’• opening at the GALAX THEATRE on Saturday- Sunday, June 29-30. Starring Fred MacMurry, Nancy Olson, and Keenan Wynn, it is a worthy successor to the producer's earlier comedy hit, **The Absent-lunded Professor, ” in which this same stellar trio combined their talents to bring off the hilarious hi-jinks# lyiacMurry again plays the absent-mind ed Professor Brainard whose scientific ex periments plunge him into all kinds of hot water. His newest discovery involves an off-shoot of an earlier phenomena, flubber (an anti-gravity substance), which he la- bles flubbergas. The professor not only uses it to put a football team into orbit but eventually to create a rains tom that results in torrents of laughter. Contributing to all the hilarity is one of the greatest assemblage of comedians ever brought together for one motion pic ture, Co-starred in a variety of roles are such laughmakers as Tommy Kirk, Ed IJynn Ken Murray, Elliot Reid, V/illiam Demarest, Charlie Ruggles, Bob Sweeny, Paul Lynde, Leon Ames, Edward Andrews, Stuart Erwin, Alan Carney, James Westsrfield, and For rest Le\riLs, to name but a few* The attrac tive Joanna Moore cuts a glamorous figure as MacKurry*s former girl friend who uses her feminine wiles to complicate the plot, "Son of Flubber” is a guaranteed blues-chaser, with built-in appeal for the entire family. Robert Stevenson directs with his usual comedy flair and keeps the action moving briskly.
