Starring Jackie Gleason and Glynis Johns, with Laurel Goodwin, Charlie Rug- gles and little Linda Bruhl, this motion picture is adapted from the best selling book of the same title• Set in Grange- ville, Texas in the early years of this century, "Papa^s Delicate Condition" tells the humorous, heartwarming story of the Griffith family whose members include; Papa, Mama, Augusta, Corinne, and Grandfather Ghio, who is mayor of Texarkana, Texas. Jackie Gleason is ideal for the role of Papa. He breathes life and believa- bility into the robust, flamboyant char acter who tries to make everybody happy, but succeeds only in alienating his family, Glynis Johns, as Mama, enacts her role with warmth, understanding, and Christian righteousness. Paramount^s screen discovery, Laurel Goodwin, portrays Augusta, the oldest daughter who continually finds fault with her papa. In a manner reminiscent of Shirley Temple, seven—year-old Linda Bruhl plays Corinne, and audiences throughout the world should fall in love with her. She is charming, adorable, and can act sur prisingly well for a child her age.
