MAX DIES Mr. Ben W. Wax died Friday night, August 16 at his home in Highlands after an illness of several weeks* A native of Baton Rouge, La., he was 46 years of age# He was founder of the original Boy's Acad emy in Baton Rouge, which he owned and operated from 194-9 to 1956, In 1956, he established Camp Elghlander for Boys in Highlands, which he owned and operated up until this year. Mr, Wax attended Baton Rouge High School where he later taught science, was football trainer and coach, and was head track coach. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University where he was twice named Southeastern Conference Colle~ giate Diving ChaE5)ion, During World WarH Mr, Wax served in Europe as army captain of the 101st Air-Borne vision* He was the son of the late (CCN*T TO PAGE 20) hoJA h ejdJbLvcui QpmpLeJi^ oJl ^ QT The Highlands Community Theatre will present next week a variety t3rpe program for its fourth production of the seascai. The title of the program is SU1#IER HOOTQi- AI3HI *63, Going along idth the music phase which is sweeping the country, this idLll be the first time that this type of program will be presented in Highlands* The music v/hich will please both young and old alike will include songs which were witten over 500 years ago to songs which are cur rently being viritten.
