time. This is the time of the semester
when students begin to panic at the very

ians* He is a former Moderator of the
Presbyterian Church in the United States^
and has served in various positions of
leadership in the denomination*
A native of North Carolina, Dr* Rich
ards earned the A. B* degree at Davidson
College, the M* A. degree at Princeton
University, the A* B* and M. A* degrees
at Oxford University, and the B. D. de
gree at Columbia Theological Seminajpy*
In recognition of his splendid ser
vice to the Church and to the world Dr*
Richards has been awarded the D* D* de
gree by Davidson College and the LL. D*

PRESENTS THE DEBUTONES AUG. 1st
A one-night-only performance of the
Greenville choral group, the DEBUTONES,
will be presented at the Highlands Com
munity Theatre on Saturday, August 1st
at 8:30 p.m., This group of fifty talent
ed young girls has just returned frcm an
appearance at the Worlds Fair in New York,
where they also ssng with l^ncent Lopez
at the Taft Hotel.
Led by Mrs* A. G* Barton, the Debu-
tones have sung at the Gheriy ELossom
Festival in Washington, D* C* for the
past five years, and will appear this sum
mer at the State Farm and Home Week at
Clemson University on August 26th*
Tickets for this performance may be
obtained starting Wednesday, July 29th
by calling the box office at 4^70, and
down town box office sales will begin
Friday, July 31st, at 10:00 a.m.
