DR. PIEHL TO lECTURE AT MUSEUM
The semi-parasiti5 flowering plants
will be the subject of an illustrated lec
ture by Dr, Martin A* Piehl at the Musem
of Natural History* The lecture is sched
uled for August 6 at 8:00 p*m*
Dr* Piehl, formerly with the Santa
Barbara Botanic Garden, is on the botany
staff of the University of Michigan* He
has done extensive research on the ecology,
morphelogy and evolution of the root-para
sitic angiosperms. Dr, Piehl is new in
residence at the Biological Station con
tinuing his research on the semi parasitic
flowering plants.

HOSPITAL BAZAAR SUCCESSFUL
The Highlands-Cashiers Hospital Ba
zaar last Friday and Saturday was a great
success, with $2,300 collected to date.
Several of the organization have not yet
reported.
