PIEHL TO lECTURE AT MUSEUM The semi-parasiti5 flowering plants will be the subject of an illustrated lec ture by Dr, Martin A* Piehl at the Musem of Natural History* The lecture is sched uled for August 6 at 8:00 p*m* Dr* Piehl, formerly with the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, is on the botany staff of the University of Michigan* He has done extensive research on the ecology, morphelogy and evolution of the root-para sitic angiosperms. Dr, Piehl is new in residence at the Biological Station con tinuing his research on the semi parasitic flowering plants. This week several more lovely and interesting homes will be open to the Episcopal Church- women for their Home Tours* Those on the agenda are the lovely J, J, Reynolds home on Eig Bear Pen Mountain, with its out standing views5 the Carlos Bean log home overlooking pond and siJrrounded by cool woodsI and the Westervelt Terhime remodel ed mountsdLn farm house, with its acres of farm in operation and its beautiful flower garden. The last home on the toijr will be the beautiful Harbert place at the High lands Country Club, where lyirs* John M, Harbert, III will be hostess isrhen refresh ments are served* HOSPITAL BAZAAR SUCCESSFUL The Highlands-Cashiers Hospital Ba zaar last Friday and Saturday was a great success, with $2,300 collected to date.
