The purpose of this newly-formed organiza tion was to conduct the affairs of the Hud son library. At this meeting S. T. Kelsey, the founder of Highlands, was elected pres ident, and Baxter White, the first post master, was elected vice-president. Today, four score years later, this organization, now knoTfin as the Hudson Library of High lands, North Carolina, Incorporated, is Gtill very much alive. JUSTICE TO CONCLUDE MQSEUM lECTURE SERIES Dr. William S, Justice of Asheville will conclude the evening lecture series at the Museum on August 27. The illus trated lecture, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. will be on flowers, birds and scenes of Western North Carolina. Dr. Justice, a well-known surgeon, is considered to be one of the finest photographers of flowers and scenes of Western North Carolina and a very enter taining speaker. He is in great demand and recently appeared before audiences at the Asheville-Biltmore College and several garden clubs in the state. Dr. Justice is cooperatii^ with the botany departmentt of the University of North Carolina in the study of the flora of the Carolinas. The lecture is open to the public and there are no charges. Headlining this yearns Hootenanny will be Stan Robinson, from Atlanta, Georgia. Stan traveled for two years with the Appalachians and recorded with them on ABC Paramount Records. He has appeared as a single on Network Tele vision, in night clubs and coffee houses throughout the East, and has worked with the Grand Ole Opry.
