At the Tovm meeting held on Tuesday
evening, further plans were discussed and
action taken on present Town projects.
Bids were presented for the paving of First
and Church Streets (from the Phillips 66
Station to the top of the hill and behind
the Presbyterian Church) and for the re
surfacing of South Street (frcm the Hos
pital to King*s Inn), These bids will be
accepted on September 8th for work to be
completed not later than October 15th.
Tile for the storm sewer to be con
structed along the north side of Main Street
will be purchased in the near furture and
work on this project will get underway.
The foundation for the new 100,000
gallon water storage tank was poured this
week. Construction on the tank, which is
being built on Bear Pen Mountain, is ex
pected to be completed within the next few
weeks.
The Tot«i also accepted bids for a new
jeep pickup and a new jeep for the Town.
