GALAX MEWS AUGUST 27, 196^ PAGE 6 HOSPITAL EXPANSION REVIEWED Mrs* A, T* Carter stated Tuesday that architects spent Monday at Highlands- Gashiers Hospital studying the possi bilities of the hospital's expansion pro gram, The entire situation is being studied and analyzed by experts on the subject. Mrs. Carter went to Duke on Wed nesday of last week to talk the possibi lities over with top-notch advisors. At the present time, however, a very large expenditure makes the expansion program look impossible. Commenting on this, Mrs* Carter said, “Something has to give.” She continued by stating that many times this summer the hospital has simply not had the room to facilitate all its patients and that the situation at hand had to have a solution.
