HOLT Roy Henry Holt, 66, of Highlands died at his home on Wednesday, July 21 follow ing a long period of illness. A painter by trade, Mr, Holt kept busy at his work until about three years ago when declining health forced him to retire. He was a native of Franklin but had made his home in Highlands for the past twenty-five years. He is survived by one sister, Mrs, Simon Ivanoff of Tampa, Fla., and a half- brother, E, P, Jarrett of Long Beach, Cal, He was a first cousin of Harry and Rich ard Holt and Mrs, Dewey Hopper, of High lands, and an uncle of Mrs, Claude Zach ary, also of Highlands, Graveside services were held at 3 p* m,j,»Friday in Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery, The Rev, Vance Davis offici ated, and pallbearers were George Lambert, Albert Chastain, Earl Crunkleton, Taft Henry, Claude Zachary, and Davis Rhodes, SUMMER ACCEPTS PRINGIPALSHIP Supt. H. Bueck announced Tuesday that Otto F, Summer had accepted the principal- ship of Highlands School, The vacancy oc curred when Mr. Charles F, Hendrix resign ed from the position which he had held for the past four years, Mr. Summer retired from the faculty of the local school in the spring of 196^ after having served a number of years as principal and also as a teacher, JONATHAN WILLIAMS AT COMMUNITY THEATRE Highlands Community Theatre will present AN EVENING WITH JONATHAN WILLIAMS on Monday evening, August 2nd at 8s30 p,m.
