Bueck, Macon County School Superintendent, announced Monday that Mr. W, C, Newton had accepted the principal- ship of Highlands School for the comin» academic year. The vacancy occurred wnen Mr. Otto F. Summer, who was elected re cently, resigned last week because of health reasons. Mr. Newton came to Highlands as principal in 1942 and has been teaching in the school since that time. He stat ed that he hoped to find a buyer for his restaurant, the Highlander, in order to devote his full time to his teaching pro fession.
