Forty-three artists entered I77 works
of art in last week end*s Kantahala Fine
Arts Show, Approximately 300 people view
ed the works, which represented several
mediae. Works for the show, a benefit for
the Hudson Library, were judged by Mr. Ire
land Regnier, Assistant Professor of the
School of Architecture and artist-in-resi-
dence of Clemson University,
Awards were as follows; BEST IN THE
SHOWi Kiti Wenzel, "Charred,” watercolor.
OILS: First, Nell Lincoln, “Geometric
Parallels;" second, Kiti Wenzel, "Subver
sive?” third, Ann Toomer, "Greed;" and
honorable mention, Mae Egge, "Northeast

The committee responsible for this
year’s successful show was made up of
Miss Martina Wadewitz, Head Chaiman;
Mrs, Val Pierson, Publicity; Mr, Leon
Wenzel, hanging to works; and Mrs, I^on
Wenzel, Advertising. Miss Wadex^itz also
wished to thank all others who
helped with the show; Mr, Louis Edwards
for the use of Hotel Edwards; and Miss
Claire Fontaine, who was in charge of
floral arrangements.
CHARLES WICK ENTERTAINS

Rotarlans continued a slide toiir
of Western United States with Mr, Charles
Wick, professional photograpBier from Del
ray Beach, Fla, and Highlands, Mr, Wick
began the slide tour for Rotarians last
week with color slides of the Southwest,
The program continued with slides of the
Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, San Fran
cisco and Yosemite National Park. Color
and depth of scenes, as captured by Mr,
Wick’s camera, effectively brought the
beautiful western landmarks for Rotarians
to enjoy, Mr, Wick added a brief summary
of safe driving practices which could
make any automobile trip safer and more
enjoyable.
Bud Potts, president of the High
lands Club, welcomed thirty-six visiting
