SHORTOFF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION SETS AUGUST 20TH DEADLINE FOR CONTEST The Shortoff Community Development Organization met Wednesday, August 4, 1965» in the Shortoff Baptist Church, with Ed Talley, President, presiding at the meeting. Ranger Bob Padgett was in charge of the program at the end of the business meeting. He presented a program, comparing our own community with a Jap anese community. He illustrated his talk with slides. During the business meeting, Mr, Tal ley announced that the deadline for enter ing the Development Organization contest is September 1, I965. This contest con sists of different items in which an or ganization may enter such as roadside im provements and clean-up campaigns. These items are combined to make up credit points for each organization.
