HOOTENANNY ^65 FRIDAY AND
SATURDAY - third annual folk
FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY COMMUNITY
THE A TRE
Highlands Community Theatre will close
its 1965 season with SUMMER HOOTENANNY *65
in two performances of folk music Friday
and Saturday evenings, August 27th and
28th at 8:30 P.M. at the Theatre. All
seats are reserved and tickets are on sale
at the downtown box office. Patron mem
bers may secure their special reservations
by contacting Mrs. T. H. Round, the box
office chairman. The Main Street box of
fice, across the street from the Post Of
fice, will be manned daily from 10s00 A,M,
to 1*00 P.M. through August 28th.
The Highlanders highlight a fascinat
ing program of country and folk music which
includes Ann Dodson, Benny Bunch, The Em
ployees and The Glassy Mountain Boys* This
will be the third appearance of The High
landers and they will present many of the
numbers on their new long-playing record
including: ”Home in That Rock,” ”Wander
Till You Die” and ”I Know Where I*m Going**’
They have performed extensively throughout
North and South Carolina (CON*D, PAOl
CONSTRUCTION ON HOSPITAL EXPAN
SION WING TO BEGIN SOON; GROUND
BREAKING CEREMONY SUNDAY
Construction of the new $328,^70,
expansion wing to the Highlands-Cashiers
Hospital is expected to get underway im
mediately, The ground breaking ceremony
will be held at three o'clock Sunday
(August 29) afternoon. Mr. Robert DuPree,
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the
Hospital, will officiate.
The new expansion wing will be built
by Smith and Jones Construction Company
of Atlanta and Murphy, N, C* The Duke
Endowment will assist in the difference
of cost and money available. The public
is.invi.ted to this important ceremony.
