Opsahl, of Clear water, Florida, has recently opened an office in Highlands xn the Town House Restaurant Building. Mr. Opsahl is well known for hia contemporary style of design and is locally best known as the designer of the Skyline Lodge. BREVARD MUSIC CENTER BEGINS THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY SEASON On July 6th, the Brevard Misic Center begins its thirtieth anniversary season, the most brilliant and most versatile in histoz*y* Included in the celebration are world-famous artists in concert and opera, the internationally acclaimed Brevard Mu sic Center orchestra comprised of pro fessional musicians, three well-known op eras, two hit musicals and a musical play, several pops concerts, and a newly in stituted lecture series* The Brevard liusic Center vjill offer concerts by such famed artists as Mary Costa, Jan Peerce, Jose Iturbi, Mischa Elman, Brenda Lewis, Jean—liarie Darre, Sergiu luca, Lee Luvisi, James Mathis, Thomas Brockman and Ernestine Smith. C^era lovers in the area will be af forded productions of three, fully-staged operas, »La Boheme", «‘La Traviata”, and ”Don Pasquale”. The ever-popular Fair Lady« and the smash hit «The Panta- sticks" will also be presented as well as the noted play with music, ”John Brown*s Body”, Professional singers, in cluding Metropolitan Opera Company stars, will perform leading roles, vdth support ing parts being taken by young profession als or advanced students* Opening the Festival season on July 8th, the Brevard Music Center Orchestra will present a total of eight concerts with outstanding soloists this season. Pops concerts will feature the music of Johann Strauss and Jerome Kern, and an all-American composer program* Other or chestral organizations will present week ly concerts* New programs at the Center this year include an expanded visual arts program open to the public and featuring weekly exhibits by prominent artists* Experienc ed dancers will comprise the new depart ment of dance which will participate in the Center stage productions* BAKE SALES A Bake Sale for the benefit of the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital Bazaar will be held in Mrs* Lyda Harcombe*s Heal Es tate offica. Main Street on Saturday, Ju ly 2nd, beginning at 9:30 a*m* The sale is being held by the Women of the Presby terian Church as their contribution to the bazaar fund* Also, there will be another Bake Sale sponsored by the Women of the Ch*urch at the same place on July l6‘th for "the hosp#
