ern Ivkjrth Ciirolina Annual Conference oi
the mthodist Church, will be the guest
minister at the first service in a series
of preaching services this summer, spon
sored by the Inter-Church group of the
churches of Highlands. This service of
worship will be in the Highlands Methodist
Church, Sunday, July 17th, at 8:00 p.m.
There will be a united choir, com
posed of members from the choirs of the
participating churches, directed by Mrs.
L. C. Pinnix.
Bishop Hunt was elected to the Epis
copacy by the Southeastern Jurisdictional
Conference of 196ii. Prior to that, he
was President of Emory and Henry College
in Virginia for eight years.
He is a native of Tennessee, and was
a member of the Ho 1st on Annual Conference
in which he held several pastorates prior
to his being a college president.

"PRAYER CAN BE DANGEROUS"

There is a story about a man named
Henry who prayed often, long, and loudly*
Certainly he was to be commended for pray
ing often and having prayers long enough
I to be inclusive, and in his case he lived
alone, so if hewantedto pray loudly it
was his business. He traditionally ended
his evening prayer by asking the Lord
to send a golden chariot to take him home.
From time to time some of his friends had
heard him close his prayers this way so
