Clayton, Ga, "SITUATION HOPELESS—BUT NOT SERIOUS" The sparkling, new comedy-satire, "Situation Hopeless—But Not Serious", which spoofs the post-war world in hilar ious fashion, plays Friday, July 29, at tb the GAIAX TF-dlATRE. Based on a best-selling novel by Robert Shaw- the screenplay ookes gentle fun at the little Bran in the big world and the recovery era in Germany, The scintillating fe&ture also lowers the laugh boom on Hollywood filmmaking in Eur ope. The story begins its satiric journey when a lonely German shopclerk and air r^id warden, portrayed by Guinness, 'cap tures ’ American pilots Connors and Redford and holds them 'prisoners’ in his cellar. They become his captives not because he harbors feelings of hate and Nazism, but because he neei someone with whom he can concern himself. "Situation Hopeless" was filmed en tirely in Germany, with interiors shot at Bavaria Studios. Kurt Easse directed the cinematography, while Rolf Zehetbauer served as the Art Director. and DininG Room WE SPECIALIZE IN FINE FOODS SUNDAY NIGHT BUFFETS 4 AGENCY, INC.
