Preminger *ilso surrounded himself with a thoroughly exrerienced and skilled international staff of creative artists and technicians. Several of these were former U. S. Naval officers who saw action in the Pearl Harbor crisis. In logistical terms, the film pro ject was monumental. Virtually moving a coitqplete motion picture studio from Hol lywood to the Hawaiian Islands, Preminger transported more than 100 of a staff and technical crew, a cast of $0 and three boatloads of equipment, wardrobes, and supplies to Hawaii for "In Harm's Way". Headlining the all-star cast which was flown to the island were John Wayne, Kirk Doughls, Patricia Neal, Tom Tryon, Paula Prentiss, BraBdon de Wilde, Jill Hayworth, Dana Andrev®, Burgess Meredith, Pranchot Tone, Patrick O’Neal, Stanley Holloway, Barbara Bouchet, Slim Pickens, Carroll O'Connor and Henry Fonda.
