He was a lifelong resident of Jfe.con County, a son of the late Wiley and Par- thenia Hedden Smith and was a retired farmer and carpenter. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Edna McKinney Smith; three sons, Harley Jr. of Gainesville, Ga., Wiley of Demorest, Ga., and Victor Smith of Atlanta, Gaj a brother, Henry E. Smith of Baker, Ore5 two sisters, Mrs. Stella Caziarc of High lands and Mss Lula Smith of Clayton, Ga> and seven grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. l>tonday in the Highlands Methodist Church. The Rev, M. Penny and the Rev. Rob ert Dupree officiated. Burial took place in Horse Cove Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve and Ed Potts, Curt Wilson, Robert Reese, and J. P. Batey. The body was returned to the home and remained there 30 minutes prior to the services. Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
