where she served as a cotinselor. Jessie
is a 1966 graduate of Western Carolina
College, and has spent the past year in
Great Falls, Itontana teaching 6th grade
in Morningside School.
Miss Betty Holt is a rising senior
at Brenau Academy in Gainesville, Ga.,
where she was recently recognized as a
member of the Honor Roll. Betty served
as CO-editor of the GALAX NEWS during
the summer of 1966.
Miss Elizabeth Worley, who was co
editor last summer, did not find it con
venient to accept employment with the
GAIAX NEl^S this summer, but has very
kindly assisted in getting this first
issue completed.
YOUNG McGALL DIES IN ACCIDENT
Services for William Stephen I-IfcCall,
10-year old son of Amos Edi'^ard and Opal
Bryson McCall, who died Thursday, June 8 ^
when he accidentally discharged his fathers
pistol, were held Saturday, June 10, in
the Blue Valley Baptist Church.
The Rev. Oliver Rice officiated.
Burial was in the Clear Creek Baptist
Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl Neely, Wendell
and VJ^er Bryson, Lewis Bendy, James Hicks
and V. W. McCall.
The boy was a fifth grade student at
Highlands Elementary School and was a
member of the Blue Valley Baptist Chiirch.
His father is night policeman for the
town of Highlands.
Surviving in addition to the parents
are two brothers, James Edward amd Emory
Wayne McCall, both of the home, and the
grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Wiley ^ic-
Call and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bryson,
all of Highlands.
HOSPITAL DEDICATION SATURDAY
The Dedication of the Highlands-
Cashiers Hospital will be held Saturday,
June 17, at 11:00 a.m.
At 10:00 an inspection and tour of
the hospital will be conducted by the
