Through out the year I had the usual scatterings of frogs and bugs in wy desk drawers5 of hilarious lines from my "precious little darlings"} of tears of joy and sorrow at report card time^ and, needless to say, numerous other incidental events which occur in the routine day of a sixth grade teacher. Perhaps the one situation I was not prepared for, however, was one of iqy own making. It concerned an adorable little lop-eared black puppyj a cold, snowy day: twenty-seven bright-eyed, (CON*D, PAGE 9) HGT^S OPENING PRODUCTION CASTS PEOPLE FROM ALL ¥ALKS OF LIFE A winter-time stockbroker and a win tertime high school teacher, spending their summer pursuing completely diverse careers, makes a play within a play at the Highlands Community Theatre during rehearsals for "Never Too Late." On July 6th at 8:30 p.m. the curtain will rise on the opening production for this exciting season at HCT, and when that curtain rises the people on stage will represent almost every walk of life. This is exactly what G. Sam Sanfilippo, manag ing director, had hoped would happen in Highlands when he and the (CON*D, P, 18) G OF C SPONSORS DANCE JULY 4th Plans are nearing completion for the Chamber of Commerce sponsored Hillbilly Square Dance as the 4th of July draws near. The dance, which will be held in Highlands High School Auditorium, begins at 8 p.m. Regular admissionis 50^ for children under 12 and §1.00 for adults. However, adults will be charged #1.50 if they don*t come appropriately dressed (in hillbilly fash ion, that isi).
