era Theater of New York, under the direc
tion of George Schick, will present Mo
zart’s sparkling opera ’’The Marriage of
Figaro”. These two presentations at the
Center are being made possible through a
generous gift of the Martha Baird Rocke
feller Fund for Music.
On Sunday afternoon, July 9, Rosa
lind Elias, mezzo-soprano, will be fea
tured soloist with the Brevard Miisic Cen
ter Orchestra. The orchestra will be un

The Educational Division is open to
all ages and includes native birds,
rocks, ferns, mosses and rooted plants.
The Flower Show will be held on July
20, from 2 to 9 p*m. in the Cashiers Val
ley Community Center. Admission is free
and there is no entry fee for exhibitors.

Scouts sold refreshments of cokes and cook
ies. One special dance was devoted to
the follcs over 25 only, who gave a fine
performance.
All totaled, the event was one of
much enjoyment and laughter. Chamber of
Commerce President Bud Potts reported
that about $21|0.00 was cleared with ap
proximately 300 people attending.
The next project of the Chamber of
Commerce is the Annual Square Dance Festi
val, August 10th. Plans are progressing,
but incomolete at the present.
