the Town budget was also a part of Monday-
evening’s meeting. The estimated budget

HOWELL PATE SUGCUlWS
Dr. Eula Pate of Highlands was called
to Fort Gaines,Georgia, Saturday night
when her father,!']!*. Howell Pate, passed
away after suffering an unexpected heart
attack.
I'ir. Pate was seventy-eight years old.
He is survived by ^irs. Howell Pate, one
sister and one brother, five daughters:
l^rs. Anne TuUy of Athens, Georgia| Ifrs.
Linda ?IcCaslin of Charlotte, N.C.j I'irs.
Frieda Mungeo of San Joes, Ifexicoj and
Doctor Eula Pate of Highlands. Two sons;
I4r* Tex R. Pate of Gainesville, Georgiaj
and Mr. Jerry Pate of Atlanta, Georgia,
The funeral was held in the Method
ist Church in Fort Gaines, Georgia, at
300 Monday afternoon.
Dr. Pate and Tomny Norton, who
attended the funeral with Dr, Pate, re
turned to Highlands Tuesday morning.
ROTARY NEWS
At the regular weekly meeting of
Highlands Rotary Club Tuesday, another
good attendance was recorded. There were
ten visiting Eotarians present and not
only was North Carolina and Florida well
represented but to the west of us Alabama
and Mssissippi and to the north both
Pennsylvania and Vermont had representa
tives, It was reported that both local
members still confined because of illness,
namely Rotarians Les Misener and Robert
Opsahl are both recovering nicely*
During the program period President
Bill liiCall called Dick Harrison and
Fred Stewart to report on various facets
of the Rotary District 76? Assembly held
