INVEST IN REAL ESTATE IN HIGHLA.NDS. CLYDE AND CHARLOTTE MEHDER^WNERS JOHN KC. PERRY AGENCY INC. realtor-s-insurors HOSPITAL GOAL IS $61,490 The Board of Trustees of the High lands -Cashiers Hospital, through 3^5?. V. ¥. McCall, Fund Campaign Chairman, has announced that the goal of the fund drive this year is 06l,U9O,OO Less than two years ago, the hospi tal had eight beds and one part-time doc tor. Today there are 27 beds and two full-time doctors. The hospital, which averaged 5 patients a day two years ago, now averages 20 patients a day, or four times as many. Although the cost per patient day is substatially less now than when the hospital had 8 beds, there is still an operating deficit which can be met only through the continued support of the community. To keep pace T-rith the increasing medical needs of the area, lyir. McCall said, a building program is essential, in order to provide an increase in bed capacity. Additional registered nurses are badly needed to maintain the high standards of the Ifedicare and heart care programs. The finance Committee of the hospi tal has prepared a budget which pro^jects an operating deficit of 0Iil,U9O.OO for the 1968-69 fiscal year. The Building Fund goal is 020,000.00, to be used as participating funds when the hospital Board of Trustees approaches various agen cies when have money available for hospi tal building programs.
