NE¥ SHOW IN REHEARSAL ON THE
HILL
'Walt Until Dark” finished a very
successful four-day run on Sunday, July
28th at U:30 p.m. By 6 p.m. the attract
ive photographer*s apartment had disap
peared, all props were neatly assembled
for return to their rightful owners, and
the decks were cleared for the construc
tion of a sumtuous Riverside Drive apart
ment in New York City*
The new play is one which cannot
fail to please even the fussiest of The
atre goers. “The Odd Couple”, by Neil
Simon, author of our recent comedy, “Bare
foot in the Park", is one of the funniest
plays ever to come across the boards.
It was first presented at the Plymouth
Theatre in New York, in 1965j under the
direction of the now famous MLke Nichols.
The leads were played by Walter Matthau
and Art Carney.
The Highlands Community Theatre is
indeed happy to offer its Patrons and
friends this unusual, rib-tickling, rol
licking Comedy of tTJo divorced men run
ning an impossible household without the
help of their mueh missed wives. A week
ly poker game adds a chance for some
clever dialogue, and txiro British sisters
are able to supply an unusual and unex
pected solution.
J&le actors twenty-five or older are
still needed to take part in the Poker
game. As an added inducement, they will
be allotted to keep all winnings. Here
is a chance to take an active part in a
worthiirhile project, and have a good time
doing it. Call the theatre, ^26-269^,
for particulars, or better yet, come on
up to see how the set is progressing, and
you may not be able to resist that special
something that permeates the air.
"The Odd Couple" will open on August
8th and run through August 11. It may
well prove the most popular show of the
season.
