THE GALAX MWS AUGUST 22, 1968 PAGE 2 THE TINE ELEMENT God does not have a Hit Parade of the "top ten" sins among the youth of our day. There is cne thing God is concerned about because it is something that practically every youth of our day is guilty of and indulging in. The sin I am thinking of is tragic in nature, because very few young people believe there is anjrbhing wrong with it. The number one sin among the youth of our day is wasting time, God describes the wasting of time as a dangerous, mind- destroying, soul-damaging, malignant pull of Satan. The Bible does speak of other sins directly related to the wasting of time. Here they are; disobedience, stub- bomess, gossip, laziness, evil imagina tions, foolishness, stealing, love of pleasures, selfishness and pride. I don’t believe it when I hear people saying that Christian young people are "squares," that they are dull, that they are phonies or long-hairs or cry-babies. That is an excuse the devil uses. When our Christian youth stands up for Jesus, the devil spreads the propaganda that somehow they are inferior. Don't you believe a word of it. There is nothing as brave, as wonderful, as true, as a young person who is unafraid to take his stand for Jesus anywhere, at any time. The beatnik philosophy is, "VJhat the (CONTINUED ON PAGE ‘ri'JEWTY ONE) EPISCOPAL EVENTS Sunday services at the Church of the Incarnation are at 8, 9:30, and 11 a.m. with the Sunday School meeting at the 900 hour, i^/eekdays the Holy Eucharist is offered at 8 a.m. daily except Mondays and Thursdays. On Thursdays the celebra tion is at 10 0*clock, preceded by Matins read at 9ih$ and followed by an adult study group. The annual Parish Meeting will be held this Monday, August 26, beginning with a dinner served at 6?30 p.m. (ipl.OO a plate). The business meeting will be called to order at 7 OO p.m. Secretaries of all parish organizations are requested to have brief reports of the past year's activities ready for presentation at that time. In the course of the meeting a Vestry will be elected, to serve through out the coming year. Bishop Henry visits the parish on Sunday, September 1. He will celebrate and preach at 900 and 11 a.m. | and administer Confirmation at 900.
