It's hard to realize that another
season is ending as we bring to a close
the Galax Ifews’s 17th year of publication.
]^ny of our summer friends have already
gone5 many will soon be leaving, and
Highlands will again settle down for a
restful winter.
¥e would like to thank all those
many people who have helped to make our
newspaper successful - our advertisers,
readers, "newsgivers", and interested
friends.
All three of us will soon be return
ing to school. Dotty id.ll be entering
Western Carolina University; Susan is a
rising junior at Highlands High School|
I will be a freshman at the University of
North Carolina at Greensboro. We’ve made
many nex'f friends this summer, and look
fonirard to serving you next year. We al
so wish each of you a happy and prosperous
year.
HIGHLANDS SCHOOL OPENS TOHORROW
School bells will ring once again
tomorrow morning after a long, silent
vacation. Bells will ring about 8s20
for a day of registration. The dismissal
bell will ring at llsOO a.m. Lunch will
not be served. High School students
will use this day for scheduling.
