new principal for Highlands School
this fall, ]yr. Stoney Hinkle.
lyiir# Hinkle, a native of Winston-
Salem, N. C., is a graduate of Western
Carolina University. Having almost
completed his master’s degree from
that school, he has been teaching in
Nei-j England.

made his application to teach here
two years ago.
Hinlde is the successor of i-Jr.
W. C. Newton, retired, who has been
principal for the past four years. IS:’.
Newton has completed thirty years’
teaching in I%con County, twenty-seven
of them spent in Highlands.
ANNUAL EPISCOPAL TEA JULY 9TH
The Annual Tea sponsored by the
Episcopal Church will be held this
year on Wednesday, July 9th, from
three until five p.m. at the home of
1'^. Walter Resce on Clear Creek Road,
off the Walhalla Road. The public is
cordially invited to attend.
