Ihe Hinkles have spent the last five years in Vermont, four years during which I^ir* Hinkle taught social studies in high school and one year at the University of Vermont, They are members of the Episcopal Church. At the present they are living on Little Bear Pen I'buntain in Mr. John Gordon*s house, but will eventually move to a new home on Flat Mountain Road, Hinkle anticipates a good school year and has announced the faculty for the coming year: In the Primary grades, what used to be termed grades 1 through U will no longer exist. Last year the non-graded program was started and as is planned, will continue. In this program, teachers will work with groups of similar ability in the various skills (i.e. reading, math,' etc.)* The ages of the members of these groups T-d-ll vary and membership itself will change as the students are challenged in different subjects. A letter explaining this program will be sent to the parents of the child ren who range from ages 6 to 10 or who are attending their first four years of school. Teachers working within this non graded program ar^ Mrs. Ruth S. Brown, ^a.ss Hilda Sanders, Mrs. Irene James, a new comer this year, J4’s. Jfergaret P. Calloway, !frs. Dick Potts, and teach ers' aide, Jfrs. Betty Wood, 3h the elementary grades: Miss Ethel L. Calloway will teach the 5th grade, Mr. Jack C. Cabe will teach .r the 6th grade. Because of the number of students in the ?th grade, there will be two teachers, I^s. Claudette Holland and 1^. Corbett R. Holland. Willard E. Garland Td.ll teach the 8th grade. In high school are Ifr. and I^rs. Robert B. DuPree. A new teacher, but a fainiliar face, is !&•. Doyle Calloway, l&'S. Caroilyn Kinsland, also new, will teach vocational Home Economics. Thomas E, Bell, also new to this area, T-idll teach Industrial Arts. Mrs. Edith M. Henson will teach Special Education. The same three members of the Teacher. Corps will be here - ]y&?. and iyS:»s. James Bates and Joyce Hamilton, It is not confirmed at this date, but possibly two members of the SMCADii, may teach elementary music and elemen tary art. Mr. Alva Duke will conduct the chorus and music, M?. B>yle Calloway will coach the boys* basketball team, iy&:‘s. Joe Reese will serve as Librarian. A secretary is also needed.
