"THE SUBJECT W;S ROSES" IJhen you come away from "The Subject was Roses," you will remen±>er the glowing beautiTul performance given by Patricia Ifeal as the embittered mother of an Irish- /American family living in the Bronx. The film version of Frank D. Gilroy*s play, which won the Pulitzer Prize, the Nex'f York Drama Critics Award and the "Tony" award, marks Mss Neales first appearance on the screen since win ning her Oscar for her work in "Kud," and she again proves herself an incomparable actress. But there are other fine performances in this moving and compelling drama of emotional conflicts and the need for love. Jack Albertson, as the father of the Cleary family, and Ifertin Sheen as Timmy the son who returns home after three years in the Army during l^rld War II to find that things are not the same, enact the roles they created in the original Broadi'jay play. They are both excellent. Timmy *s welcome home starts off with a bang and a gala ni^t club tour of the town I'Tith his parents, but disillusionment soon sets in when he becomes aware of the discord between John and Nettie Cleary. * * * BLUE RIDGE PHARMACY IU.IN STm Highlands Agency for: russell stover cand HIGHLANDS RED CARPET SERVICE DRUGS^SUNDRIES^PRESGRIPTI Allen 6 Marilyn Still OWNERS - PHARMACISTS CALL 526-2250 niMING itOOM OPEN Breakfast 8-10 Lunch 12-2 Dinner 6 - 9:30 SERVING EVERY NIGHT Fried Chicken Country Ham Shrimp Chopped Steak Mtn.
