Record Turnout At Rotary
I^ialvina Trussell, Ph.D., a retired
biology professor from Florida State
University, Tallahassee, who spends ever^/
sunmer at her attractive Horse Cove home,
told some 59 Rotarians and guests about
her l^ami winter home at the regular
meeting last Tuesday, Extra tables
xiere brought in to accommodate the large
number of guests. Secretary Bud Potts
stated that in his opinion this was the
largest attendance at any regular Rotary
meeting since the club was chartered in
19U5.
The C,T.A, Tcrt-rers, where Dr, Trus-
sell lives in the winter, is located on
Brickell Blvd., close to Rickenbacker
Causeway, overlooking Biscayne Bay, Her
apartment on the li^th floor commands an
outstanding vieiir of the bay, Miami Beach,
the Causeway and doimtoim Miami, One of
the best features of the building is that
it has a stairway in addition to the el
evator so Dr* Trussell, noted for her
many hikes in the mountains, can keep in
shape by walking up to her abode. Ano
ther advantage is that the entrance is
only four blocks from the net: 1-95 which
connects with the Sunshine State Ffeirki^ay
and 1-75-SO it is possible to drive
almost all the way to Highlands without
a stop and go light.
The C.T.A. Towers, in addition to
being a wonderful place to live, is, in
a sense, a nei^ concept in retirement
living, according to Dr. Trussell, who
was one of the pioneer tenants, A full
program of activities is provided, each
person is requested to make a report of
his or her talents and abilities. The
list of available skills was surprising.
