Highlands and Franklin newspapers under
her maiden name of Sarah-Hicks Hines.

CITIZENS* MEETING
A meeting of approximately 250 of
the toTTOspeople of Highlands was held at
the Highlands School Saturday night,
June 6. The purpose of this meeting was
to discuss mth the Hospital Board the
most effective way to persuade Dr. Pate
to reconsider her resignation from the
Highlands-Cashiers.Hospital, and to
clarify recent developments of the Medi
care Program as it affects the local
hospital.
A resolution was signed by those
present requesting Dr. Pate to withdraw
her resignation, and a meeting with the
hospital board was scheduled for Tuesday,
June 9. Results of this meeting were not
available at the time of going to press.

Unusually impressive were the com
mencement exercises held Tliursday night,
June I4, in the High School Gymnasium for
the 1970 graduating class.
Seniors graduating were Donnie
