SAMUEL EUGENE POTTS DIES
Highlands was saddened Tuesday
morning by the news of the death of
Eugene Potts.
Samuel Eugene Potts, 7ii-5 died in
the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital July 7
after a long illness.
He was a former postmaster of High
lands, past master of Blue Ridge lyfesonic
lodge No. h3$ for 1^6 years and president
of the Highlands Cemetary Association
from 1956 to 1966. He spent unmeasured
and unpaid hours working, both on paper
and physically to improve the Highlands
Memorial I^rk and due to his untiring
efforts and the efforts of the late
Dewey Hopper and lyman Zachary and others
the Cemetary was changed from the some
what unkempt hill it was to the place of
beauty and tranquility it now is.

munity Theater, starring Esther Carroll,
drew excellent crowds July 2, 3 and i*.
