Highlands Community Theatre with a cast
of sixteen singer-dancer-actors under
the direction of Michael Hall, musical
director David Hagan and chcareographer
Alice Haig.

been a successful vehicle for such well-

DR. HOWELL HONORED
Dr. Thelma Howell, who for 26 years
has been Executive Director of the High
lands Biological Station, was presented
with a special Citation by the Trustees
at the iUtth Annual Meeting of the Corp
oration in Highlands on Sunday.
The Citation pointed out that for
all these years Dr. Howell "has been the
driving force and principal guiding hand
of the Station." It was mentioned that
during her Directorship the Station has
added Laboratory buildings and dormitor
ies. The co-operating and contributing

"IJhy is it that the poets tell so
li-ttlc of the sonsG of smell..?
I don*t know the answer to that,
but here is one poet who is thoroughly
enjoying her sense of smell. How could
it be otherrjise when one is in Highlands?
As I sit by an open windor-j X'jriting
this, it is raining on the green, green
mountain jungle. Thunder rumbles be
yond Satulah and a light rainwind stirs
the leaves, revealing their silver under
sides like a school of minnows in the
