Frankovich production is a slick, spicy melodrama about love and hate, 'ilhile it will bring to mind several old-fashioned potboilers, it adds several modem accoutrements of its own to quality for its contemporary setting. Dyan Cannon starts the ball rolling in the opening sequence when uhe suggest to her card-playing friends that she will sleep with all of their husbands and then inform each of them what they are doing wrong. The other wives are played by Rachel Roberts, Janice Eule, Marian I''fcCargo and Cara Williains. The doctors are ably played by Richard Crenna Gene Hackman, CairoU 0‘Connor and John Colicos. ’'Doctors* Wives** will play Tue-¥ed i^ugust 17-18 at the Galax Theatre. Director I''achael Hall cast Robert Smith as Richard(the Idonhearted), Rick Stanley as Geoffrey, Terry Madden as John, with David Traylor playing Xing Phillip of France, and Pat Nesbit as Alais. Kay Cortez is script girl, and lighting by Jim Painter. The interesting multi-level sets designed by Frank Bennett add much to the production. Apprentice Ed Douglas helped stage carpenter.
