Campbell Defeats
Christians At Dunn
The Chri5tias bowed In defeat be
fore the light but aKgreasive foot-
baU team of Campbell College at
Dunn on Saturday, November 24. by
the score of 9-0. CampbcU’a score
wuB made by a touchdown and a
Aafety, both the reHUlts of blocked
puntK. The first score came when
Williamson. Campbell tackle, broke
through and blocked a punt one of
his teammates recovering behind the
goal line for a touchdown. The
poiiU was added by a pasK. Wll-
liamnon was also reKponsible for the
safety made by his team. lie block
ed another punt and tackled the A.C.
man who recovered bohind the goal
line. Thus Williamson was always
a nemesis to the locals, his play was
the brightest spot of the game. For
the locale the playing of Captain
Munn in the backffeld and Forrest,
substitute end. stood out prominent*
ly. Munn seems to have made a
good change from quarterback to
halfback, and Forrest has been play
ing' a consistent game since bi'ing
shifted from halfback to the flank
position. Coach Anthony again
shifted his starting lineup In an at
tempt to shake off the jinx and win
a game. We are not tryiilg to offer
excuses for the loss, nor are we try*
ins to underrate the.Campbell team;
l ut th9 gridiron at Dunn slowed up
the Christians considerably, they
beiu" accu^itomed to the smooth
grass covered grid at League Park.
The men to make the trip were;
Coach Anthony, Munn. Bryant.
Denby Cherry. Ifardison, Anderson,
Meekins, iJanks, Hailey. Ilowell, Uz-
zle, Merritt, Forrest, I«Ier, Fulghum,
Wiggins, Brinkley, Weddell, Haw

Ion and the Association.’’ |
He further cnmmlts himself by|
. slating that In his ponlnlo he be-;
lleves It Is a good thing for the Stu-1
dent Association to have regular I
monthly meetings, at least, and It
possibly, meetings more occasionally.
By a coincidence, another member of
the faculty makes the same recom
mendation, so there must be some
thing to this, too.
I The IVcsldcnt .Speaks
This Is Mr. Illlley. He Joins with
Prof. Grim In thinking that regular
monthly meetings would be helpful
and stimulating to the growth of
the Student Association, and de-
IClares, "If the purposes and the
1 ideals of the Association were
brought before the student body
' more often and more regularly, the
organization would prove to be more
effective. Chapel periods and other
times should be utilized to get the
Association's Ideals before the
students.”
His answers to the questions:
(1 & 2). "From my Investiga
tions I believe that cheating has i
■ been eliminated, and to a great ex-j
Uent." 1
(3). "No, because it has made'
no special apneal (here." j
Risulls Hinrtenlng |
From the foregoing, two general
conclusions may be drawn, all of
which are heartening, and should,
tinued efforts along these lines men-'
serve to spur the student body to con-
tloned above. That there has been
a decided Improvement Is a compli
ment certainly to the young organi
zation.
(1). All agree that ebbatlng Is on
the wane: most of them think, to a
great extent.
(2). While some think the
deals of the Association are carrying
over Into other channels of student
conduct, other frankly say that If it
I is they have »e«n no sign of such
frsnsference. Out of this it will be
interesting to nee what wlU emerge
during the next fe«r au.atbs. Some
candidly say that th* college spirit
is finer, more who'e«om>?, while
others are no evlden e of it. Is
there any carrying orer? We ahall
