best stunts will be awarded prizes.

will be served. To climax this gala

The Christinas Story was read
In German, a talk of German cus
toms. and "Silent Night" and oth
er soogs were sung by the German
cIass.
Kaoru Nonaka. ai the represen-
t a t i v e of Japan, sang "Silent
Night," read the Oiristmas story
in Japaaese, aod discussed Jap
anese customs.
Refreshments c oasis ted of Chal-
upas, cate au lalt, Kuchen, and
Japanese tea.
Business Club
The Business Club held its regu
lar meeting Thursday, December
2. at Parker's. There was a su|>
per and also a short informal busi
ness session.
Those who attended the meeting
enjoyi'd the supper, which was a
change from the usual procedure
of the meeting, "nie purpose of the
supper was to encourage more
memt^rs to attend the meetings
and to enjoy the variety of the
meeting which the supper offered.
There was some discussion on
methods of raising funds to be used
for the project which the Business
Club hopes to accomplish this year.
No definite plans were made: how.
ever, the Business club is planning
to have a Christmas party at the
next meeting, which will be held
on Thursday, December 16, in the
afternoon.
All those who wish to become
members of the club and all old
members are urged to attend the
meeting of December 16.

Sigma Tau Chi
Sigma Tau Chi and their Phi
Kappa Alpha brothers wxirked to
gether on the float for the Home
coming Parade. They also worked
together decorating the fraternity
house, ser\-ing punch and cookies
to visitors and decorating the din
ing hall for the Homecoming
Dance.
Sigma Tau Chi was In charge of
the annual Christmas Song Fest,
under the leadership of Eleanor
Hatsell on Sunday, Droember 12, at
9:30
Phi Kappa Alpha
On Tuesday evening, November
23, Phi Kappa Alpha held Its
monthly stag party at the South
erner in Elm City.
This year, as in the past, the
members of Phi Kappa Fraternity
have volunteered their services to
the Wilson Junior Chamber of Com
merce to help with their annual toy
drive. The boys have beien repair
ing toys for the underprivileged
children nf Wilson.
Besides rendering the communi
ty a great service, the boys had
a good time working on the toys.
Phi Delta Gamma
After a very successful home
coming. Phi Delta Gamnta is now
milking plans for rush week in the
new pledge program devised by
the Pan Hellenic and scheduled
to begin the first week after Christ
mas holidays.
Jimmy Burnette, Jack Harris,
Dennis Nichols and Jo« Killings-
worth constitute the committee to
make and to carry out these plans.
No public statement has been re-

Hesperian Club
On December 1, each member
brought a Christmas selection
which he presented in competition
with other members.
The two Judges, Mrs. Doris Hols-
worth and Dr. Mildred Hartsock,
after being put in a Christmas
mood decided to divide the first
prize. All members shared the can
dy io one accord.
Selections being read were as
follows: 'The Christmas Silence,"
Delaixi: "Twas the Night Before
Christmas," C. C. Moore; "Why
the Chimes Rang," Alden; "Beth
lehem Town," Field; ‘The Joyous
Miracle,” Norris; Reading from
Pickwick Papers, Dickens.
The Hesperians hope to begin
moving rapidly toward tournament
time, when they can debate the
boiling topic of this year, and try
for honours in dramatic readings
and ail other oral presentation.
AC Band
The Atlantic Christian Alumni
Association has decided to buy the
much needed eight additional band
uniforms and a now drum major
imiform for the college band. The
new uniforms are expected to ar
rive here for the functions of the
band after Christmas.
The band’s last appearance was
during the annual Christmas pa
rade In Wilson, on Friday, Decem
ber 10. at 7:00. At that time the
band played "Jingle Bells."
"Dcck the Halls,” "O, Come All
Ye Faithful,” and "Joy to the
World."
Appropriately dressed for the pa
rade. the majorettes wore white"
fur hats and mittens and bells on
their skirts and boots. Their batons
were draped with red tape to re
semble candy sticks.
The Atlantic Christian College
Band has received many favorable
comments concerning the parade
and concert givei) as part of the
Homecoming program. The band
led the parade, and the concert
was well-received by the students,
alumni and the people of Wilson.
Delta Sigmai
Delta Sigma Sorority has begun
sale af The Student Directory,
which contains the names and ad
dresses of all students and facul
ty members. If you have not al
ready obtained your copy, perhaps
It would be a good idea to do so
before you mail your Christmas
cards. 'That's one way to be sure
of TOur roommate's or boyfriend's
address. Copies may be obtained
from any Delta Sigma Sorority
member.
Delta Sigma held its annual
Christmas party at the regular
meeting time on last I\iesday aft
ernoon at the home of Delores Best
Weaver, president of the sorority
last year. Following the regular
business session refreshments
were served. Christmas decora
tions and a tree were the back
ground for the entertainment which
the girls enjoyed after refresh
ments. Part of the entertainment
came when each of the girls re
ceived a crazy gift.
A recent candy sale by Delta
Sigma proved to be successful. The
sorority wishes to express thanks
to all those who made it possible.

Phi Sigma Tau
Shirley House has been elected
Captain of the volleyball team for
Phi Sigma Tau.
The sorority had its annual
Christmas Party at Parker’s this
year, where there was an exchange
of gifts. The party was held De
cember IS at 5:00 p. m.
The word yale Is the modern
spelling of the Anglo-Saxon geol,
which meant Christmastide.
Collegiate

with a real gone party on Decem
ber 13.
The Staff shook, rattled, and
rolled out to this dive called Squar
ed Parker's and enjoyed a meal
that Just wouldn’t quit.
Stuffed to the gills, they sat back
and took in the entertainment
which was the most! The 4-0 gal
of ACC, Ruby Wiggins, had charge
of this end of tho program und
man did she do things up right!
Gifts were given which sorta
shook the folks all up, but in th«
end all the would-be squares and
double squares bad a bang-up of a
time.

The Women’s Athletic Associa
tion wishes to thank all who helped
make their Homecoming float i
prize-winner in the recent Home
coming Parade.
Girls’ volleyball intramurals be
gan December 1 with seven teams
participating. These teams ar«
made up of three freshman groups,
a town team, and the three soroti-
ties. Games are being played from
5:00 to 8:00 p. m. from Monday
through Thursday nights in th«
gym. The tournament will take
place January 10 and 12. All sto-
dents are invited to attend tiie
games.
