The Atlantic Christian College
Vocal Ensemble will be
presented in concert by the ACC
Department of Music, Thursday,
Nov. 3, at 8 p.m., in Howard
Chapel, on the college campus.
Directing the ensemble will be
Robert M. Daniel.
Featured work for the concert

Major.” The ensemble will be
joined by a string orchestra and

Students Davida Barwick,
soprano; Doug Lane, tenor; and
Linwood Little, baritone; will be
featured soloists. The second
portion of the program will in

Foster. The Foster melodies will
be accompanied by piano and
guitar.
The “Mass in G Major” is a
series of six complete settings of
the “Mass Ordinary,” by
Schubert and was written in 1815
when the composer was only 18
years of age.
Seven employees of AHA
Services were honored on
Tuesday for more than a hun
dred years of combined service
given Atlantic Christian College.
It is ARA Services’ policy to give
each of their employees a gold
timepiece after ten year's
continuous service. Honored
were: Dock Ham, W. M.
Franklin, Irene T. Gray, Peter
J. Taylor. Dixie D, Gill, Bertha
M. Parker, and Agnes E.
Langston. Also in attendance
were Ralph Grumpier, host of
the event; Milton Adams,
president of Atlantic Christian
College; Hoyt Taylor, district
manager of ARA Services; Ken
Dale, regional vice president of
ARA Services; Jones Fuquay,
president of SGA; Jane
Roebuck, photographer; and
Keith Bracknell, co-editor of The
Collegiate,
Honored employees were
given a steak dinner and af
terward were lauded for their
excellence by speakers Adams,
Dale, and Grumpier who
presented the awards.
Adams praised the workers
for their dedication. “In the
summer of ’67, while changing
from the old cafeteria to the new
student center cafeteria, we
decid(>d to go with a professional
f(H)d service. We coasidered
many companies and decided on
ARA Services. Now, 10 years
later, we are well satisfied with
the excellence they have
maintained. Of the original 18
members employed by ARA,
seven have remained.” Adams
emphasized. "Nothing is talked
about more than foixi." With all
the complications arising from
f(K)d preparation said Adams,
“Our problems have been
minimal”
Ken Dale, invitc“d the honored
workers to take pride in playing
a part in the success of ARA
Services. ‘‘I extend heartfelt
thanks for the excellence
displayed by these workers.”
Grumpier pointed out that all
but W. M. Franklin were
working before ARA Services
came to Atlantic Christian
College and also that one other
worker had put in all but a few
months of the ten years' service
but was unable to continue
because of sickness.
Grumpier expressed hope that
“you all will be able to be here
for future awards. Thank you for
your dedication.”
