SGA President
Mlantic Christian College is a
place to be. We are em^
Ling on a new era m AC s
!,ton We have a dynamic new
Ssident, many new additions
ifaculty.andanew library^
as students have a new SGA
Coistitution, completed and
ratified this year, that is the
sponsible product of many
hours of hard work. We have had
much to be proud of in the past
and much to look forward to in
0)6future. But, our mam asset is
ourselves. We, the Student Body
ofAtlantic Christian College, are
diverse. Yet we are strong. We
are voung, free, and privileged
to be in college, but there are
also many responsibilities to fill
our student days. We have a
responsibihty to stand together
as a strong and integral part of
the college.
The responsibilities of the
President of the Student
Government Association are
many and varied, but basically
the office should be one of
representation of the student
body. As a candidate, I feel that
my past experience with Student
Government as well as my
familiarity with the new Con
stitution qualify me for the office
of President. I feel confident of
may ability to carry out all the
demands of the office and well
represent the Student Body.
Talie an interest in the Student
Government of Atlantic
Christian College — VOTE for
the candidates of your choice on
March22asnd23.
Sincerely, DON BERRY
To the Students:
My name is Kathy Whitehurst
and 1 am running on the “write-
in" vote for the office of the
Student Government
Association President. One of
ray main concerns for the
coming year is for more total
involvement of the student body.
There needs to be a change of
■mage from an apathetic suit
case college to a dynamic in-
stitution where everyone;
faculty, staff and students alike
are concerned with the total life
of the college.
During my Freshman year, I
^Id the position of Freshman
Class Senator on the Student
Government Association
Executive Board. I was also a
member of the Campus

recently helped in the rewriting
of the new S.G.A. Constitution.
I feel it is important to be
involved with the student
government at Atlantic
Christian College in order to be
aware of both the problems and
the positive aspects of life on
campus. The time has come for
the administration and students
to convey their attitudes and
concerns to each other. I am
willing to bring forth to the
administration the expression of
your feelings if only you will give
me the chance.
It is imperative for each in
dividual to feel accepted here at
Atlantic Christian College. This
can be achieved through the
total involvement of the various
organizations and activities
provided on campus. Through
the enthusiasm and par
ticipation of all students, these
organizations and activities can
be brought to life and play a vital
part in the future of A.C.C.
Please give me your support
so that we may work together to
improve and revitalize this
institution.
Kathy Whitehurst
SGA
Vice President
To The Students:
Atlantic Christian College
offers a great diversity of in-
dividuals and individual neeua.
As students, our primary con
cern is that of education, yet,
within this framework, we also
require a means of unity and
representation in the events of
college life. Student government
exists for such a purpose. The
task it seeks to complete is not
easy. Its success depends on the
interest of each student as well
as concerned, effective, and
creative student leadership. As a
candidate for the office of vice-
president of the SGA, I seek to
offer such leadership.
In being a part of the executive
council of this years Men's
Interdorm and subsequently a
part of SGA, I have seen a
portion of the potential that
exists on this campus by and for
the students. The potential
exists, but its realization is not
guaranteed. Diversity can mean
great strength or devastating
weakness. It is through a
realization of our collective
potential as a student body that a
productive year can come about.
As vice-president of the SGA I
would like to see our student
government get away from an
emphasis on dealing with
stratagems that feed the per
sonal ego and get on with the
business of being an open, in
terested, and effective student
government, sensative to the
needs and concerns of the
student body.
Our new constitution offers
potential. Effective leadership is
necessary. Your support is vital.
An important step can be taken
in voting on March 22 or 23. I
would deeply appreciate your
personal support.
George T. Murphy
To the Students:
The job of the Vice President
of the SGA cannot be taken
lightly. It is a full time
responsibility to the students he
is representing. He must be
willing to sacrifice himself for
the advancement of the student
body.
The new SGA Constitution
gives the Vice President more
responsibility than he has ever
had before. He must be aware of
that responsibility and be willing
to accept it. In my work with the
SGA in the past I have seen
apaty, inaccessiblity, and
unconcern among many officers
of the SGA. As the Vice
President, I will work toward
making the leaders of the SGA
aware of their responsibilities to
the students they have been
elected to represent In my
capacity as the Speaker of the
S«>n;!le. I wii) constantly keep the
members of the St'iwte aware of
their obligations to their people
I will attempt to make myself
more available to the students in
order to offer them an outlet for
their complaints concerning
both the SGA and the
Administration of the ('ollege I
cannot promise results
everytime,but 1 can promise an
exploration of the problem
SG.‘\ is a vital part of student
life at Atlantic Christian, but
without student involvement it
will die a slow, painful death I
seek your support for my can
didacy but that is not the
primary issue. The primary
issue is that you become in
volved in your government and
that you make your reprt*sen-
tatives responsible to you and
you alone.
