Dear Fellow Students,
On March 29 and 30 you will
have the opportunity to select
those people which you think
are capable to lead Student
Government for the 1979-1980
school year. It concerns me to
see that in the case of most of
the “races,” including my own
of SGA vice president, there is
only one candidate. This appar
ent lack of interest is what I
most strongly hope to change
during the coming administra
tion.
I feel that I am qualified for
the position of SGA vice presi
dent. During the past year as
Junior Class vice president and
Clerk of the Senate, I have
learned a great deal about how
SGA functions. I have also seen
the great potential which lies
within Student Government to
help the students. Student Gov
ernment has the potential of
being a loud voice in the affairs
of the college. I feel that this
voice should be that of the
majority of the students instead
of just a handful.
I sincerely hope that you will
begin to make your voice heard
by voting in this election. While
voting, I hope you will vote for
me as SGA vice president.
Sincerely,
David G. Webb
Bulletin Board
First, I would like to say that I
was not planning to run for an
office. However, after finding
out that no one in the upcoming
Sophomore Class was even in
terested enough in our class to
run for the office of vice
president, I decided to run.
Although I am busy just like
everyone else, I am very inter
ested in our class and its
involvement in campus activ
ities; therefore, I did not want
this disinterest to reflect upon
myself or the class. Also, I have
not been very involved in our
class and its activities this year,
because I never seem to hear
about class meetings until they
are already passed.
Now that I will be a write-in
candidate for the office of vice
president of the upcoming
Sophomore Class, I intend to
work with the elected president
to increase interest and activ
ities for the class. Also, I will
try to make sure that the
meetings are well publicized so
that members of our class can
become more involved.
Please write in Kathy Pearce
for vice president of the Soph-
more Class.
Thank You
Kathy Pearce

My Fellow Students,
Once again, it is election
time. I have taken the oppor
tunity to run for vice president
of the Junior Class. Some may
ask why; others do not care.
Well, I care and this is my main
reason for running for vice
president. I want to see us do
things together as a class for the
good of A.C. and the surround
ing community. 1 want us to
have fun doing things together.
If we decide once and for all to
do away with this “I don’t care”
attitude, we can accomplish
tremendous tasks. We would
then be working together, not
against each other. I know that I
can not make promises about
any particular activity; however,
I know that given the job,
I would do everything within my
strength and power to fulfill the
task.
Running for an office is a
worthwhile endeavor because I
do it not only for myself, but
also for you, the upcoming
Juniors. If elected, I would be
here to listen to you and your
ideas as well as your gripes. But
let me tell you a secret, I cannot
“listen” if you do not give me
anything to listen to. So, please,
work with me. After all, I will
represent you; don’t leave me
“running on empty.”
Sincerely,
Jo Anne Cavenaugh
