French Territory
Deportation of its European
representative from Prance was
acknowledged today by the U. S.
National Student Association
(USNSA). The representative,
Clement Moore, received notice of
deportation from the French Min
istry of Interior on January 13.
Moore had been a student at the
Iristitute d'Etudes Polltiques in
Paris.

according to USNSA. Moore de
livered the speech as official ob
server of the U. S. National Stu
dent Association.
USNSA indicated that its of
ficers have held discussions with
the Prenich Embassy in Washing
ton and the Department of State
in support of Moore’s appeal from
the deportation order. USNSA has
made no public protest of the
French action on the understand
ing that such a iMotest might be^
misinterpreted as an attempt at
coercion, harming Moore’s appeal
and chance of resuming his
studies in Paris.
Moore has enrolled at the Lon
don School of Economics for the
present term. Moore graduated
summa cum laude from Harvard
College in J>une, 1957.
The deportation order stated;
“Because of derogatory infor
mation collected about Clement
Henry Moore (and) considering
that ilie maintenance of public
order and imperative reasons of
national security necessitate the
departure of the above-named
alien from French territory . . .
he is ordered to leave French
territory.
The U. S. National Student As
sociation is a non-partisan and
