The Poet’s Corner...
Move Together... We Are Going To Do It...
The following poems are
taken from a book of poetry
written by Don L. Lee
entitled “Black Words That

TRUSTEES

individual groups, the trustee
board met and reports of the
proposed recommendations
from the meetings were made.
This year was the first time
students met with the trustees in
a formal meeting. Prior to this
year, the oniy contact the
students had with the trustees
was the cordial smile or passing
nod of the head, and maybe a
brief conversation. The only
existing rapport was between
administration and trustees. No
opportunities were afforded for
an exchange of viewpoints
between the students and
trustees on the campus situation.
One trustee was overheard to
comment after the meeting that
the students were tired of being
told who to go to see; tired of
putting things down on paper,
they want a voice in what is
done concerning them.

A MESSAGE ALL
BLACKPEOPLE CAN DIG
(& a few Negroes too)
we are going to do it. US:
blackpeople, beautiful
people; the sons and
daughters of beautiful people,
bring it back to US: the
unimpossibility, now is the
time, the test while there is
something to save (other than
our lives).
We’ll move together hands on
weapons & families blending
into the sun, into each/other.
SUPPORT
Continued From Page 4
Tentative plans for fund
raising projects are now in the
making. Long range plans
include dorm competitio
projects, a splash party, a
get-acquainted coffee hour,
and a Miss Bennett Pageant.
In order to carry out these
plans, your support is needed.
Turn on to a good th^g!

of a present Belle, as she

always the possibility of
getting from the guest

could use to guide your life.
On a whole. Founders’ Day
is not all bad, girls; it could
be improved, it’s true, but
you can’t do that by staying
away.
It would seem the benefits
outweigh the extra two hours
of sleep you got that
morning. Remember, in order
to get anything changed or
done, each person interested
has an individual
responsibility to see that it
gets done. THINK ABOUT

Do like the Little Theatre
Guild does, in cases where
there is possible conflict with
the movie schedule and
something else, the students
get two chances to see the
movie~it keeps the money
coming in too.
So, whoever is in charge of
the movies, won’t you at least
consider what has been said
here? Action as soon as
possible will be greatly
appreciated and enjoyed.
How about it?

(11) AQUARIUS (January

Romantically you are doing
just great and you may have a
tendency to daydream too
much about your love. Time
is too precious, concentrate
on work and learning. This
will take your attention away
from your emotions; which is
what you need right now,
even though you may not
think so.
(12) PISCES (February 21st -
March 20th) You may sink
into deep depression or
become very upset over the
words of an older person.

carefully and act accordingly.
If you seem to be going out
of your head with your
problems, the best thing to
do is to relax and get away
from it all. A weekend trip
could prove to work wonders
not only on you but your
situation as well.

You have written the

your problem. This is a very
serious problem and should
be taken up with a counselor,
or someone who can offer
you some type of
professional help.

more to make. I believe
eventually they will make
these changes.”
Nora Randolph

think are necessary and
proper rather than what the

don’t have much faith in it.”

BLACKRUNNERS/BLACKMEN
or run into blackness
(for my sisters & their sisters)
they were blk/revolutionist.
& they often talked of the
third world & especially of
the power of china, (quoting
mao every 3rd word) they
were revolutionist & the
blk/sisters knew it & looked,
& wondered while the
brothers/the revolutionists,
made bonds with the 3rd
world thru Chinese women,
the sisters waited. (&
wondered when the
revolution would start)
