Grueling, tiring, and successful have been words used to describe the Bennett
College Choir's tour of the Midwest The members of the choir spent their spring break
(March 2 -10) singing, promoting and recruiting for Bennett.
Before hitting the Midwest the choir traveled south to Atlanta to perform at the
alumnae white breakfast Then they took a 12- hour ride to Marrietta, Ohio where it
began to snow. That was only the fust of many inches of snow that they saw as the
tour continued to Columbus, Dettoit, Chicago, and IndianapoUs.
“Besides the cold weather 1 found the tour to be successful and lots of fun. We met
a lot of people that had never heard of Bennett and it gave us a chance to tell them about
it ” said Page Nicols, a freshwoman performing arts major from Charlotte.
’ Some of the students tbat did go home for spring break were able to see the choir
perform. “It felt good to seemysisters preform so beautifuUyinmy hometown. It gave
me a chmice to show off whatBennett has to offer to my famUy and some younger girls
that may be considering a women’s college after graduation,” said Starr A. Allen, a
freshwoman psychology major from Detroit.
The choir will be touring the East Coast next year.
