professor of history, was fea

foot soldier" Greensboro News
& Record, Feb. 12. The article
focused on the roles Brown and
her family played in desegrega
tion in the 1950's and 60's. Ac
cording to the article, when
Brown was 14, she helped de
segregate an all-white high
school in Charleston, S, C. .
Dean of nursing program from
Egyptian university visits Bennett

Bennett students may soon be
given the opportunity to partici
pate in health-related programs
offered at a university in Egypt.
Dr. Dalai K. Eshra, dean of
High Institute of Nursing at
MenoufiyaUniversityin
Menoufiya, Egypt, visited Ben
nett fromFeb. 3- April 10.
During her visit, Eshra and
Dr. Janice Brewington, director of
the Center for Women and Health
at the Bennett, College Women’s
Leadership Institute, worked on a
report about their 15-month health
project “Primary Health Care Out
reach Program Linking University
with the Community.”
Brewington and Eshra's re
search focuses on Menoufiya
University's facilitated clinics
which offers health programs such
as prenatal care, child health care,
and health education to the 150
families participating in the re
search project in El-Dabiba and
Manshia Sultan . The two villages
are located near Menoufiya Uni
versity.
Eshra said she is interested in
an exchange program between
Bennett and Menoufiya Univer
sity.
“I look forward to future col
laborations with Bennett College
students, especially in areas of
women’s health," Eshra said.
Brewington and Eshra are also
preparing to take part in a health
seminar which will take place in
Egypt in April.
An informal reception was held
in honor of Eshra Feb. 9 in the
lobby of the student union.
