Memories of good ol’ BC
What will I remember most about Bennett?
I’m not a senior, but I’ve already got memories of good ol’ BC.
I’m sure all the senior Belles will agree with me when I say I’ll
never forget walking the campus and seeing the smiling faces of
women who are suRX)sed to be my sisters.
I’ll remember the good things - the Saturday mornings in the
cafeteria and hanging out in the dorm with the girls. I’ll miss Jones
Hall dormitory meetings and glorious snow days earlier this
semester.
I’ll remember freshwoman step
shows, Nubian Nuance, probate
shows and Basketbelle games.
I’ll never forget the weirdest
and most hectic semester I’ve ever had. Spring 2000. I can’t forget
the student protests and their results. There is no way I can escape
the memory of fall registration drudgery or spring room sign-up.
I’ve tried to forget freshwoman curfew and people running across
campus to get in before the doors are locked.
I’ll remember the people I’ve met: My department head. Dr.
Lenora Brogdon-Wyatt, or Geneane Royal, my first dorm director,
and Dr. Lona D. Cobb (I’m still in Dr. Cobb’s class - hope I get an
“A” for this mention.) I’ll never forget my first roommate (hey,
KAP!) and getting used to sharing my space.
Most of all. I’ve learned how to be a phenomenal woman. I
know with my last two years will be filled with more growth, more
knowledge, more friends, mwe stress, and more blessings. I think
my memories of Bennett will be an additional pearl on my strand of
life. I hope so.
