SHOP
Mr. J. W, L. Benson and fami
ly returned from vacationing in
New York City and other north
ern cities, last Friday. We are
sure that they had a splendid
trip, having spent the week mak
ing the trip. Being of an analy
tical mind, in some things espe
cially, we were just wondering if
Mr. Benson could tell us just
what the average evaporation per
delegate at the Democratic Con
vention would amount to.
Healing Springs had a visitor
from Mr, Benson’s office last
week in the person of Lee Neaves,
who was visiting his father at
their home near there.
One of the boys from up in the
shop was telling me about the
efforts of one Jim Lyons, in an
attempt to raise pheasants, on
his farm on the outskirts of Elkin.
We are not sure that we under
stand all that this fellow told us
about Jim and the pheasants, so
we are not going to say anything
about it this time. If Jim will be
kind enough to give us the details
on pheasant raising we will be
glad to write them up for the
benefit of the 4Va readers of this
item.
Bright spot around the shop:
Curtis Couchs’ smile since they
put him on night time.
The opposite: When we told
Jim Lyons that we didn’t have
four belts glued for him; that he
didn’t use for three days after,
Jimmy Booher of Mr. Benson’s
office spent a few days recently
visiting his home folks back in
Tennessee.
Add simile: As busy as Leff
Cothren checking up.
Mrs. Jimmie Booher returned
last week from an extended visit
with relatives in Bristol Va.-
Tenn.
