Winston Team Leaves For A.A.U. Tourney Chatham Girls, Southern Textile Champions, to Enter National Meet in Wichita Undefeated Chatham girls, the champions of the Southern Tex tile world, will enter the National A. A. U. championship tourna ment at Wichita, Kansas, March 20th. The team left by train Friday, for Wichita, and will play their first game on Tuesday. Chatham girls captured the Southern Textile Tournament and the A. A. U. tournament in Class A, and are city league champions in Winston-Salem. The Winston-Salem team will represent both North and South Carolina, being the only team in these two states eligible for the tournament. Among those making the trip are the following players, Babe Poole, Mildred Poole, Dorothy Samuels, Jennie Sherrill, Jannie Sherrill, Aldie Biddix, Ann Line- back, Katherine Whitener, Levia Smith, Cleo Petree, Maurice Gor dan, and Myrtle Reavis; A. R. Plaster, coach, and Claudia Aus tin, manager. , . ■ PRIZE WINNERS A contest held recently was won by Miss Etta Mathis, Miss Juanita Billings and Mrs. Clara Southard. The contest was a twenty-five-word letter on “Why I Like to Belong to the Lucy Hanes Chatham Club.” The first prize was a silver dollar and the second and third prizes a pair of hose. ,
