Construction Progressing On New Plant
Construction of the new Scour
ing and Carbonizing department
is moving along at a rapid pace.
This addition will be 54,000 square
feet floor space, and will cost ap
proximately $150,000. The Scour
ing and Carbonizing department
will be two stories high, and the
wool storage warehouse, three
.stories. The building is on the
railroad siding and will have a
large concrete platform on the
east side of the building.
The grading consisted of mov
ing 30,000 yards of dirt and
placing it in the valley above the
Spray pond. This will provide
ample parking space on the east
end of the plant.
Mr. D. D. Morgan is superin
tendent of the construction, for
the Frank L. Blum Contracting
Company, of Winston-Salem.
