In my message to you one year ago, I spoke of the great change that the move to Elkin would make in the lives of so many of us. Now that we have been here for nearly a year, I believe and hope that it has all worked out for the best. The welcome we have received from our fel low workers and friends in Elkin has been even warmer and more cordial than we expected. Month by month we have become used to being one big family. I know that everyone will keep on trying to know his and her fellow workers better. What a year we have had! Moving, build ing, the flood, the old mill fire, the new^ scouring plant, etc. And we have become an important cog in the preparations for National Defense. We have had dark days and bright days, and still we go on, each doing our best. To every one who reads these words I wish for you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
