PAGE TWENTY-FOUR THE ECHO JULY, 1943 Missing In Action PVT. ERNEST B. ENGLISH, formerly employed in Cham pagne, is reported Missing In Action since June 18. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Flem Glazener, of Rosman. Pvt. Eng lish left for the Army on Decem ber 13, 1941. WISHES OVER PRODUCTION Mr. Straus and Fellow Workers: A few lines this afternoon to show my appreciation for the June copy of the Echo that has recent ly found its way into my hands. You would be surprised at the enjoyment' we get out of this paper. When I read the issue I pass it on to a friend who also greets it with a smile, so you see two birds are killed with one stone. So don’t disappoint us and keep the issues rolling, and we will do our part to keep this war moving on towards victory and a speedy return to those we love. Edgar Conley and myself are back together after a period of time. It was he that I was refer ring to in the first part of my letter. We get together quite of ten and have had some swell times together. I also ran into Leon Williams a few days ago. He seems to be en joying himself fine. I notice that you all have wel comed many newcomers into the plant since my departure one year ago. I’ll teke time out and wish them all the very best of luck and an overproduction of cigarette paper. I suppose I have said enough for this time, so it’s “so long” and the best of luck to alL Your friend, ROBERT RAINES (Pvt., 1st CL) CAT FLIES LONG WAY May 19, 1943. Dear Mr. Wells: Received the paper you sent. Thanks a lot. I am sorry I haven’t been able to write more often but we are very busy here. How are things at the plant? Fine, I hope. I guess there are very few young men there now. My brother, Ed (you know him) has been in South America. He’s now in Africa and sent back by his lieutenant, who flew to the states a few weeks ago, a small leopard cub. The cat has 8,000 fly ing miles to his credit. He is sure pretty, but mean. They like him here; and I take him up every day. If I ever do get another leave I will bring him home so you can see him. I’ll have to close for this time. Write to me when you can and give everyone my best regards and thanks again for the Ecusta pa per. Sincerely, S|Sgt. NORMAN SINGLETARY. Simpson, William G. Siniard, Charles J.
