PAINTERS DO IMPORTANT WORK HERE AT ECUSTA Masons, Painters, Millwrights, Oilers Important To Plant This is the concluding article of the feature story about Ecusta’c important Maintenance Depart ment In our former issues we have been dealing with the different de partments or shops, their locations, and the respective part they play in the job of keeping the mill running. In this concluding part we will deal with several groups of skilled work ers who are not confined to depart ments but who work all over the mill property wherever they may be needed. Masons We have one group of these skill ed workers known as the Masons. It is the task of these masons to take care of all kinds of brick work whether it be repair work or re modeling, or altering of old work. Also any cement work that is done within the plant is handled by the masons. Jesse Gossett is their fore man and they are: Coy K.. Brown, Cecil King, Joe Wright, Jim Bum garner, W. A. Cline, Thomas Young and C. E. Cochrane, Painters J. S. Whitaker is foreman of the painters. He has several painters in his crew and their job is to keep the mill painted. This means that all of the hundreds of doors and win dows throughout the plant must be kept painted at all times so as to preserve them. All of the walls and ceilings must also be kept paint ed as well as the equipment con tained therein. All new or repaired or salvaged equipment must be painted. The department also boasts of an excellent sign painter R. W. Pace who incidentally painted all of the signs for the Ecusta pic nic. The other painters besides Fore man Whitaker and R. W.
